Let’s Get Started:
Huge demands are made on our lives every day. Sometimes the demands are so great that we just want to throw up our hands and run away.
God gave us 24 hours in a day. He doesn’t expect us to pack anymore into that 24 hours that what we are able to do. So, why do we try to do more?
There’s something that drives us to fill every waking moment with something other than what God expects. Let’s take a few moments to examine what the Bible says about setting our priorities in a Godly way. This Bible Drill will give you the chance to read and think about what changes God wants you to make in your priorities.

INTERPRETATION: What does the text mean?
- What seems to be a recurring idea in these scriptures about who/what/where/how we should place our priorities?
- The words of Ecclesiastes 2:11 are common statements made today by many people. In the thousands of years since this verse was written, nothing seems to have changed much in regard to our labor and toil. Read all of Ecclesiastes Chapter 2. What do these verses seem to say about a better way to prioritize our life?
- How does Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 reinforce what was said in Ecclesiastes Chapter 2?
- What does Matthew 6:33 say about our main priority? How does this support the writers words in Ecclesiastes Chapters 2 and 3?
- What do the words of 2 Timothy 2:22 say about what matters most in life?
- How does Matthew 6:24 address the way we prioritize life?
APPLICATION: How do I apply the text to my life?
Consider these scriptures again. Understand that the Bible says a great deal more than what we’ve read here about how we choose what takes first place in our lives. Take what you’ve read and make a list of things that take priority in your life. Make another list of the things that really should have priority in your life based on scripture. Compare the two lists and note areas that need your attention in establishing your priorities that really matter. Talk to God about what you have learned, and ask Him to give you real direction and motivation to make the changes He wants you to make.
